PC corruption!

It’s been a little while since I posted here, mainly because of some severe computer problems I have had recently.

But don’t worry, everything is sorted and I can get back to updating my website and composing new music!

If you are interested in what happened to my computer, well…basically my Solid-state Hard drive became corrupted due a writing issuse. This happened because I was allowing the drive to go into sleep mode and this damaged the drive. This is a known issue with Sandforce controllers (or something).

After this happened, I had to set up my old PC to work on. I could, however, continue to use this PC to compose music, I just couldn’t access certain programs because it would hang the entire OS. Eventually though, the SSD gave way and completely died.

I used my SSD for Windows 7 and all my other programs (Reaper, Sibelius etc) and, luckily, kept my data on other hard drives. Although, without the SSD, I couldn’t actually do anything! My only option was to purchase another. I will get the faulty one replaced once my work deadlines are over.

tl:dr, SSD became corrupt, I couldn’t compose anything for a week. All sorted now.

Bandcamp / Bye, Blogger

Great, so all my music has been uploaded to Bandcamp in FLAC format! And all went well

This afternoon I created a Journal on Last.fm, just to advertise myself a little. Although Last.fm decided to bloody-time out as I was posting it, which resulted in the journal being posted twice, which screwed up some of the connections. Brilliant.

I find that Last.fm can be a bit bloody useless when creating Journals, or when messaging multiple people. Last time I tried to send a message (to 800 people I might add) Last.fm timed out and somehow, everyone received my message 3 times! I’m sure that because of that, most of the recipients discarded my message as spam -_-.

Anyway…

I’ve decided to retire my old Blogger blog, and to continue blogging here on my WordPress site.

Updates

Ok, so I have this basic WordPress site set up. Now for some updates, which I’ll carry through with tonight.

• I will convert all my tracks to FLAC and upload to Bandcamp
• Embed the Bandcamp link into the ‘Music’ section on my site
• Write a description for the album
• Add descriptions for each track
• Add a ‘Links’ tab

I’ve changed themes, added my own custom header and created a page for my music.
